We recently hired a Customer Service apprentice who previously worked with us during a short college placement. We thought it would be great to ask him a few questions to introduce you to the youngest member of our team!
Introduce yourself to our members
My name is Hanaan and I’m 18 years old. In 2018 I studied Business, ICT and Accounting at college.
How did you feel when you did your placement at No1 CopperPot?
I could honestly have not been more delighted to work for No1 CopperPot, there is nowhere else I would have wanted to go for my work experience. During the 3 days I was introduced to the whole team. I learnt a lot of keys skills, such as how to conduct myself, communicate with different members. All the team made me feel extremely comfortable and welcome, which increased my confidence.
What did you learn during your placement?
I gained a deeper understanding of No1 CopperPot and its working ethos. I learned that No1 CopperPot is a not for profit credit union, whose members can join if they share a common bond. I also learned how to work together as a team and how to deal with members. Overall, I picked up a variety of skills and techniques which I was able to implement on my return to college and in my everyday personal life.
What are your thoughts on coming back to start your apprenticeship?
I have just finished college and I could not be happier working for such a well-established organisation with such lovely people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the whole experience has been second to none. I am proud to be a part of this organisation and I can honestly say there is nothing I would change. I cannot wait to learn even more and develop my career with the best credit union, No1 CopperPot.
Hanaan is now part of our Customer Service Team and could well be answering your calls and emails very soon! We enjoy developing young people and helping them achieve long-term careers within the credit union sector. It helps to create more credit union ambassadors and raise awareness of the great things credit unions have to offer! We want to wish Hanaan the best of luck as he works to achieve the completion of his apprenticeship with us.
